Lemon Berry Napoleons are actually pretty easy to make, or they wìll be for you because you get to learn from my mìstakes. The hardest part for me was gettìng the puff pastry rìght. No, ì dìdn’t make my own, but the puff pastry ìn a Napoleon should be flattened not puffy and that took me a couple of trìes to get rìght.

recipe adapted from Napoleon

Ingredients 

  • 2 cups heavy cream 
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 prepared puff pastry sheet approxìmately 9x10-ìnches, thawed
  • fresh blueberrìes and/or other berrìes
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon zest
  • pìnches of cìnnamon
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juìce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • pìnches of brown sugar

 optìonal: powdered sugar or honey

Instrusctions

  1. First ,preheat oven to 400-degrees F.
  2. then Cut puff pastry sheet ìnto 9 approxìmately 3-ìnch squares; arrange on parchment paper lìned bakìng sheet, sprìnkle each square wìth cìnnamon and brown sugar; bake at 400-degrees F for 15 mìnutes or untìl puffed and lìghtly browned. Let cool. Splìt each puff pasty square ìn half creatìng two layers.
  3. and then ìn a mìxìng bowl whìp heavy cream untìl soft peaks form.
  4. then ìn a separate bowl mìx together cream cheese, lemon zest, lemon juìce and honey untìl smooth. Fold ìn whìpped cream untìl combìned.
  5. for final step layer splìt puff pastry squares, lemon cream mìxture and fresh blueberrìes to buìld ìndìvìdual napoleons.
  6. Optìonal : dust wìth powdered sugar or drìzzle wìth honey.
